As a teacher of a Connect Group, the following expectations are outlined by our church. All Connect Group leaders are in covenant with the church to live by these expectations.

I am
confident that I have trusted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of my life. Romans 10:9, 10

God, Jesus, and the
Bible
|
I believe there is only one living and true God – the Creator,
Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe and He reveals Himself as
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1-2; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 John 5:6
Christ is the eternal Son of God
and no man can be saved except through a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ. John 14:6-13
I believe
and will tell others that the Bible is the divine, inspired Word of God, and
that the Scriptures are “truth without any mixture of error.” II Timothy 3:16

Behavior

I will
strive to have daily quiet times. Deuteronomy

I will
strive to live a life of integrity and avoid any behavior that will destroy my
family, marriage (if married), witness, or will call my character into question,

Because of
the proven destructive effects of alcohol and other addictive substances, I

I will be
faithful in giving my tithe (10% of my gross income) to NBC. Matthew 6:33; 2 Corinthians 9:6-10; Malachi

Responsibility

I will
faithfully share the Gospel with unbelievers as the Spirit of God gives
opportunity and lead my group to do so as well.
Romans 1:16
I will faithfully prepare to teach what is in accord with sound
doctrine according to the church’s doctrinal statement. I will follow the
church’s curriculum plan as determined by the pastoral leaders. Titus 2:1
I will actively strive to participate in all leadership
meetings. Ephesians 5:15-16, Colossians 3:23-24
I will be
faithful in attending Worship Services at Northside Baptist Church. Hebrews 10:25
I will lead
my group to discover and minister to the needs of adult group members. Galatians 6:2
I will seek
to multiply my leadership by enlisting appropriate class leaders that will help
me with ministry. I will actively search out a potential leader that I can
develop as a future teacher. 2 Timothy 2:2
