We just want to make sure we are doing what is needed while continuing to be good stewards.

BIBLE STUDY HELPS
God created sex; man has chosen to pervert it. Sadly, sexual perversion seeks to permeate and influence our lives 24-7. Succumbing  to sexual perversion leaves a plethora of devastation in its path—guilt, broken homes, loss of jobs, loss of respect for women and men, perverted relationships, tormented memories, regretful decisions, abuse of children, sex trafficking, abortions, physical illness, and even death. All of this is for the quick fulfillment of a sexual desire that God has given us to enjoy in the context of a marriage relationship between a man and a woman. We overcome these challenges by the relentless pursuit of sexual purity. This is the focus of this week's LifeWay Explore the Bible study.

You notice that I have changed the title to better focus on the context of the passages from Proverbs. Moral purity seemed to be very broad so I narrowed the focus down to pursuing sexual purity. I have also tweaked the outline as well to help bring what I feel is additional focus on the main subject at hand.

So how can we personally overcome our past and protect our future as it relates to living a sexually pure life? The book of Proverbs provides us with wisdom about avoiding the traps that moral perversion has laid for us. It is personified as a “forbidden woman.” While the Proverbs conversation was directed toward young men, this is a conversation for all to heed.  The lack of discipline in this area could lead us to leave behind a legacy of regret, pain, and relational and emotional damage.

I have included a wealth of illustrations and statistics to assist you in preparing to teach your group. I pray that this study will help you and your group focus on how to avoid the dangers of embracing sexual immorality, and be inspired instead to focus on pursuing sexual purity.
For a command is a lamp, teaching is a light, and corrective discipline is the way to life. They will protect you from an evil woman, from the flattering tongue of a stranger. (Proverbs 6:23-24, HCSB)
