Bible Study Helps
Show me the money! This attitude is permeating our culture today. It seems that everything we do, how we treat others, and the decisions we make are greatly influenced by money. We will focus our attention this week in LifeWay's Explore the Bible: Exercise Financial Responsibility study on unpacking the wisdom from Proverbs as it relates to properly handling money.
The Explore the Bible Leader Guide shared the following insight regarding this study:
Talking about money at church can be a touchy subject for some people. The Bible has a lot of things to say about the best use of our money. Accumulating wealth has become a primary goal in life for many people. In pursuing financial success, they make prosperity an idol in their lives. Chasing riches, they too often sacrifice relationships, forsake compassion, and surrender integrity. Whatever wealth they gain is never enough. Many people waste their lives in a futile pursuit of satisfaction through materialism.
As we focus on this study, I pray that we will all examine our financial practices to determine if we are acting responsibly, not only in the handling of money, but in how it influences our actions toward others and toward God.
Honor the Lord with your possessions and with the first produce of your entire harvest.
