February 23 - You Can Be Restored!

Announcements -- Curriculum, Velcro, and Looking Toward Easter

Curriculum -- Your new curriculum is in the workroom. You may pick it up Sunday.

Looking Toward Easter -- As you know, we are having Connect Groups on Easter. But, as we move toward Easter we want to focus on those who aren't coming or who have quit coming. For the next 7 weeks, all our ministries (preschool, children, student, and adult) have issued a challenge to our leaders to see which Connect Group will have the greatest increase in average attendance leading up to Easter Sunday, April 27th. We will provide more information next week. Let's take this opportunity to focus on people who need to be "restored" to our Connect Group!

DON'T FORGET ABOUT OUR UPCOMING TRAINING EVENT. PLEASE BRING A POTENTIAL LEADER WITH YOU FROM YOUR CONNECT GROUP.

Bible Study Helps
Restoration is something that is difficult to comprehend. From a human's perspective, we struggle with facing someone who has failed us and offering them restoration. And, if we have failed someone, we find it equally difficult to even look them in the face.

In the final chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus sought out Peter, even though he denied Christ three times. He not only sought Him out; Jesus demonstrated to Peter that He was loved which freed Peter to respond with love without the barrier of past failures. Not only was Peter restored, He was given a renewed purpose and was affirmed by Jesus.

LifeWay did a great job with the background material and the commentary. I have chosen to tweak the title and the outline this week to focus more on the process of restoration. Be sure to review so you can supplement your notes or use it "as is."

We have all experienced Jesus' restorative power if we are believers. It is underserved love and grace that is hard to fathom. I pray that you will be able to use this study to help your group understand they too can receive restoration from Jesus and they can help others experience Jesus' restoration.
